Customer Overview

The customer in this cooperation is an enterprise specializing in the R&D and manufacturing of core electronic and electrical components. Its main products include various safety sockets, industrial power strips, and matching copper terminals and components. These products are widely used in household appliances, office equipment, industrial control systems, and other fields, where strict standards are required for conductivity, safety, and production consistency of internal copper connections.

Project Origin

With the growth in market orders and product upgrades, the customer’s original welding equipment could no longer meet the precision welding requirements of power strip copper terminals. The customer urgently needed a dedicated precision spot welding machine to solve production challenges, improve product quality, and enhance production efficiency, which became the key reason for this cooperation with PDKJ.

As an essential consumer electrical product, power strips rely on copper terminals as their core conductive components. Due to copper’s high thermal conductivity and the small size of the workpieces, welding such terminals requires extremely high equipment precision and stable current output.

Before upgrading the equipment, the customer was still using traditional outdated welding machines for copper terminal processing. During mass production, several process shortcomings became apparent, mainly including the following three problems:

1. Poor Welding Stability

The old equipment had unstable current output, causing weak welds and false welding on copper terminals, resulting in inconsistent product qualification rates.

2. Rough Weld Appearance

Uncontrolled heat generation during welding easily caused blackening of the workpieces and obvious indentation marks, affecting product appearance and assembly quality.

3. Complicated Changeover & Adjustment

When switching production between different terminal specifications, the setup and adjustment procedures were complicated and time-consuming.
