Thin-walled aluminum-alloy structures are prized for their light weight and high strength in aerospace, automotive and other sectors, yet they are notoriously difficult to weld: distortion, burn-through and porosity appear all too easily. Laser welding machines have become the go-to solution, leveraging unique technical strengths to overcome these challenges.
A high-energy-density laser beam is focused to a pinpoint and melts the joint in milliseconds, slashing total heat input. When welding 0.3–1 mm-thick aluminum extrusions, the heat-affected zone stays within 0.5 mm and distortion drops to less than one-fifth of that seen with conventional processes.
Aluminum’s tenacious oxide film is neutralized by an integrated inert-gas shield that excludes ambient air, preventing oxide inclusions and porosity. A digital control system fine-tunes power and travel speed in real time, guaranteeing uniform fusion without burn-through and full design strength.
Cosmetically, laser welds are narrow and flush; no secondary grinding is needed. On automotive aluminum door frames, the smooth, continuous bead enhances structural rigidity and provides an ideal surface for subsequent painting.
PDKJ laser welders combine precise energy control with intelligent shielding technology, delivering strength and accuracy for every thin-walled aluminum component and elevating your product quality to the next level.
